By now, just about everyone in the area has heard (or at least heard of) Beach Day. Not as well known in Palm Beach County (yet) are Gold Dust Lounge. Their tripped out, eclecto-chill, surf-spaghetti, acid-noire, punk-jazz sound is not to be missed… This Saturday at Dada in Delray. Come Early!

FROM THE GDL PAGE:
Gold Dust Lounge is a collaborative musical project led by guitarist/songwriter, Russell Mofsky. Mofsky is a native of South Florida who came up through the DIY punk scene of the late 1980s. He was a member of the critically-acclaimed band Quit who were regulars in independent music circles and shared the stage with bands such as Social Distortion, Green Day, Fugazi, Marilyn Manson, Butthole Surfers, 7-Seconds, Samiam, and ALL. Subsequently studying jazz guitar at the New England Conservatory of Music, Mofsky started Gold Dust Lounge as a way to explore and integrate a broad range of musical influences.

‘The Standard, Miami—a seventies-style hotel with a vibe that’s half summer camp, half hippie commune … where it’s hard to decide whether to watch the hipsters or the sunset…..you can listen to live music by the jazzy jam band Gold Dust Lounge’– Eimear Lynch, Condé Nast Traveler

‘Excellent support comes from Miami scene vet Russell Mofsky, whose local punk pedigree bleeds through the surfabilly edges of his new project, Gold Dust Lounge.’- Arielle Castillo, Miami New Times

‘From a slight distance, the trio’s music — ambient instrumentals laden with reverb and often performed at an unhurried pace — can sound as fragile as smoke rings.’- Jake Cline, Citylink Magazine

‘Gold Dust Lounge is that rare music act that accurately describes its own music: “original post-surf, noir, spy-fi rock-n-roll.” Throw in the spirit of free-form jazz and you’ve got Wynwood Bootleg’ – William Alton, Beached Miami
